Internet advertising again leads the Polish advertising market in its growth. While the whole advertising market in Poland is experiencing a serious slowdown, Internet advertising is growing at an impressive rate. On Thursday June 16 the international SEO conference Search Marketing Day 2011 came to an end. For two days Poznań was taken over by ten world renowned SEO experts, over 220 participants, and terabytes of knowledge transferred from the heads of the former to the heads of the latter. The Friday interview with Kaspar Szymański has initiated a series of interviews with the speakers invited to the Search Marketing Day conference that is taking place next week. Today it is Stephen Pavlovich’s turn – an expert on conversion optimization (CRO), with around 800 Twitter followers. The Polish Internet advertising market grew really fast in 2010, but it was nothing compared to the rate at which its main component – the search engine advertising market (SEM) – grew. The research commissioned by the Polish branch of IAB and carried out by the auditing company PwC shows that the outlays on Internet advertising in 2010 amounted to ca. 393 mln EUR, including ca. 118 mln EUR spent on SEM.
The increase in the value of Internet advertising up to the level of 393 mln EUR means the dynamics at the level of 17% in relation to the previous year. In terms of the absolute value it means an increase by ca. 51 mln EUR.

Search Marketing Day – the first international SEM conference in Poland! Only foreign speakers! 15 June 2011, Poznań, the cultural and trade centre Stary Browar – Multikino. There are only 205 passes for the conference, as that is dependent on the seating capacity of the largest screening room at Multikino cinema. The information about the speakers will be published successively but as for now have already received confirmation of attendance from several world-class stars of the SEM industry!

At the beginning of October the Polish site Internet Standard issued their fourth report about the Polish e-commerce market. From the report, the marker emerges as considerably lagging behind Western Europe and the US, but at the same time quickly catching up. The characteristic features of the Polish e-commerce market include Pole’s inclination to buy at online auctions or, to be precise, the auction site Allegro.pl that basically dominates the market, still unsatisfactory offer of freight forwarders, and backward marketing thinking of the Polish shop owners.

Mobile and video – it’s the future that is happening today – that’s how you could sum up the main message of the Think with Google event that took place on 7 October in Google’s Dublin headquarters. The event gathered around 160 companies – mainly agencies and big advertisers from EMEA countries, including 8 people from Poland. The event clearly showed what Google’s priorities are, what they want to sell, and where the biggest growth potential is – the things that are becoming increasingly important in today’s internet industry.
